Depending on the type of goods you are selling and the Country you are selling to, you may need to add VAT (Value Added Tax) or Sales Tax, to the sales amount for items being purchased.
The additional Tax amount for your customers' purchases is calculated automatically by BizSectors.com based on the percentage you allocate for the tax. The Tax amount is shown in the checkout phase in order that the correct Tax is applied depending on the customer's Country of residence.
You may name the Tax applied as appropriate. e.g. UK tax may be called VAT, US tax may be called Sales Tax.
Specific taxes are set up separately on BizSectors.com: by going to your E-store page in the admin system, you can select Taxes. You will then be presented with a page listing the separate taxes you have set up.
To add a new Tax, click "Add Tax". You can then name the tax and this is how it will be named on your web site where the Tax amount is displayed. You should now select the regions you would like this tax to apply by selecting from the list.
Note: You can select multiple regions by holding down Control on your keyboard and the clicking an item. To deselect an item, control click the item again.
Finally add the Tax amount, expressed in a percentage.
You can control whether Tax is calculated and displayed for products on your site by checking or unchecking the Active option.
To modify your Tax settings for the site, select Taxes from the main E-store admin panel and then Edit the specific Tax you would like to change.
The Tax applicable for an item is shown in the checkout phase after the customer has stated their delivery address: since taxes are region-specific BizSectors.com must know where the customer is purchasing from before the correct tax for the region may be applied.
